Easy Cake-Mix Banana Bread

Description

Replacing the original cake mix with Betty’s new lower sugar product and halving the amount of added chocolate chips reduces the total grams of sugar per serving from 12 grams to 9 grams without sacrificing the indulgence.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (3 to 4 medium)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour bottoms only of 2 (8x4-inch) loaf pans.
  2. In large bowl, stir together cake mix, oil, eggs and bananas until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Divide batter evenly between pans.
  3. Bake 43 to 48 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of loaves comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans. Run metal spatula around edge of loaves to loosen; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes before slicing. Wrap tightly, and store at room temperature.
