Oven Fried Chicken Tenders

Description

While fried chicken tenders are certainly a drive-thru family favorite, we love our homemade oven chicken tenders recipe even better. It has been a go-to recipe for households for over 15 years. These baked chicken tenders are simply breaded with our not-so-secret ingredient, panko bread crumbs, which make them extra-crispy and bake to that golden brown perfection. Hearty enough to enjoy as the main course for a meal, these delicious tenders also make for a delicious snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup Progresso™ Plain Panko Crispy Bread Crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/4 lb (20 oz) chicken breast tenders (from two 14-oz packages)
  • Favorite dipping sauce, if desired

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 425°F. Line sheet pan with foil; spray with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange 3 wide, shallow bowls on the work surface. In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat egg and water together. In the third bowl, combine the bread crumbs and cheese.
  3. Coat both sides of chicken with flour. Dip into egg mixture, then coat with bread crumb mixture. Place on cookie sheet.
  4. Dip flour-coated chicken into egg mixture.
  5. Finally, coat both sides of chicken with bread crumb mixture. Place on cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, turning once after 10 minutes, until chicken is no longer pink in center and coating is golden brown.
  7. Immediately transfer the chicken tenders to a serving platter and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
